SHOESTRING BOOKS is a small publishing house which specialises in illustrated books for the soft furnishing industry.
About 25 years ago Wendy Baker, who is an interior designer, started to store all her sketches in a file for quick reference to show her clients and other designers various ideas for curtains/drapes. Now many years later she has published 6 books for SHOESTRING BOOKS and several for other publishers, her books sell worldwide and in Poland her Curtain Recipe Book is a big seller….the Americans and the Russians can’t get enough of them and the Chinese have just copied them!
In September Wendy Baker opens a new venture, one she has been meaning to get started for a long time. THE WENDY BAKER INTERIOR DESIGN COURSE which will be tailor made for each student depending on their requirements. The course will cater for the very young who don’t want to go to University and would rather have a money making career and the older person who would like to get back to work.
Also there will be a one to one course for PROJECT MANAGEMENT for those who are buying a new home or prefer to work that side of the industry with Architects and Quantity Surveyors.
